5000 artisans/ workers, clusters of entrepreneurs and financial institutions
The overall objective of the project is to address the poverty, environment and gender issues by creating sustainable high value enterprise based economic opportunities with effect use of bamboo resources in the SAARC region.
To demonstrate integrated development in eight bamboo clusters thus positively impacting the lives of 5,000 artisans / workers.
The project will directly help build capacities of the relevant local and regional institutions, both public and private to undertake scaled up initiatives for integrated development of bamboo based enterprise in SAARC countries. This will help a larger outreach for sustainable development.
At micro enterprise level the project focuses more on making entrepreneurs capable enough to address their own economic problems and therefore the activities are self sustainable.
At the national and regional institution level, project targets at larger outreach of sustainable development by building the capacities, plugging the identified gaps among key public and private organizations and creating linkages with the entrepreneurs
Cluster level activities;
Local Meeting /Seminar/Workshop;
Support for Efficient Production and technology;
New prototype development and marketing linkage;
Demonstration and common production equipment in existing local facilities managed locally;
Addressing social issues;
Publicity / documentation and Communication;
Monitoring and evaluation; and
Common cluster activities for sustainability.
