Strategic Planning Workshop held in Thimphu, Bhutan on 19th – 21st March, 2012. Representatives of 7 SAARC countries participated;
Project Financing Agreement signed by all participant countries;
Developed SAIEVAC Administration and Financial Procedure for Regional Secretariat and Implementing Agencies;
Regional Children Consultation, Technical Consultation and Governing Board Meeting held on 25th-31stMay, 2012 in Colombo by National and Regional Children Consultation Group;
Advocacy and Communication workshop held in Male from 16-21 January, 2013 together with mapping of the National and local information system, mapping of Good practices and development of child friendly materials. Representatives of 8 SAARC Member States participated;
Bangladesh, Bhutan and Nepal are implementing the project; and
Afghanistan, Maldives, Pakistan and Sri Lanka are in the process of starting implementation of the project.
SDF officials had a meeting with SDF Board Director, Director General SAARC and focal persons of SDF funded projects in Pakistan on 12th July, 2013 on project implementation issues. Ministry of Finance assured to grant the approval for opening account for SAIEVAC at the earliest.
The 3rd Technical Consultation on the theme of “Eliminating Harmful Practices Affecting Children in South Asia based on Tradition, Religion, Culture and Superstition” was convened in Thimphu Bhutan from 25-27 September, 2013.
