Mr. Satya Shiva Saswat is the designated Director at the SAARC Development Fund (SDF), overseeing the Economic and Infrastructure Window involving constant interaction with private enterprises, multilateral institutions and government organizations to participate in infrastructure and developmental economic projects that will benefit the economy and people in the eight SAARC countries.
Mr. Saswat has more than 16 years of experience in business development, structuring and managing projects in key infrastructure sectors like electricity, roads, telecommunications, railways, water supply and sanitation, ports and airports, storing facilities, oil and gas pipelines, renewables, speciality chemicals and allied sectors in different geographies across Asia and Africa. He has expertise in risk assessment and monitoring the accounts post sanction and disbursement.
Mr. Saswat has worked with Export-Import Bank of India (India Exim Bank) for more than 12 years, wherein he has administered large infrastructure projects across India, USA, Mexico, Russia, China, South Africa, Morocco, Egypt, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Thailand, Bangladesh, Maldives, Sri-Lanka, Myanmar and Laos. Before taking up the assignment with SDF, he was the Regional Head of the Chennai Region, India Exim Bank and contributed immensely to the business growth of the region. Prior to this Mr. Saswat worked with Bank of Maharashtra and was instrumental in funding MSME units with export orientation and development of international business in various parts of Maharashtra and West Bengal. He is having sound knowledge on Trade Finance and MSME Finance.
Mr. Saswat holds a MBA with specialization in International Business from Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) and a PG Diploma in Banking and Finance from National Institute of Bank Management (NIBM). He holds a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering and is an EFQM (European Foundation for Quality Management) Certified Assessor. He is also a Certified Associate of Indian Institute of Banking & Finance (CAIIB) and has a Diploma in Treasury, Investment & Risk Management from FIMMDA and Indian Institute of Banking and Finance. He has earned certificates in Financing & Investing in Infrastructure from Bocconi University and Global Environmental Management from Technical University of Denmark. He is also a certificate holder in Public Private Partnership courses conducted by the World Bank and UN-ESCAP. He has attended numerous training and workshops at national and international level on various topics related to project and infrastructure finance.
