Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Visited the SDF Secretariat

His Excellency Mr. Yang Houlan handed over the second Voluntary Contribution of USD 300,000 from People’s Republic of China to Mr. Karma, Chief Executive Officer of SDF and said that the People’s Republic of China is happy to see the efforts made by SAARC Member Countries towards stronger regional cooperation. This Voluntary Contribution is intended to sup-port SDF’s efforts towards regional integration.

Japan to boost SDF staff at its Middle East embassies

The government will deploy more military personnel at its embassies in the Middle East after the Islamic State hostage crisis revealed glaring inadequacies in its intelligence-gathering abilities in the region.

The change, announced Tuesday, will see a greater number of defense attaches accredited as embassy staff, while officials will separately urge schools overseas...
